Falkirk midfielder Dylan Tait is at the centre of a transfer battle, with English League One clubs Plymouth Argyle and Barnsley reportedly keen on securing his services. The 24-year-old has been a pivotal player for the Bairns, attracting significant interest ahead of the summer transfer window.

Despite his importance, Falkirk's manager John McGlynn has expressed reservations about Tait signing a new deal. Contract negotiations have been ongoing since before Christmas, but McGlynn's recent comments suggest a breakthrough is not imminent, stating, "I wouldn't suggest that it is looking good... but we don't know for sure."

Dylan Tait has been instrumental in Falkirk's recent success, playing a key role in their back-to-back promotions from League One back to the Premiership. He also contributed significantly to the club's top-six finish in their first season back in the top-flight, solidifying his reputation as a valuable midfielder.

Tait initially joined Falkirk in 2024, first on loan before making the move permanent. His senior career began with Raith Rovers, followed by a spell at Hibernian where he struggled to make an impact. During his time at Easter Road, he spent various loan periods at clubs including Kilmarnock, Raith Rovers, Arbroath, and Hamilton.

While the future of Dylan Tait remains uncertain, Falkirk has been proactive in securing other key members of John McGlynn’s squad. Players such as Barney Stewart, Leon McCann, Coll Donaldson, and Scott Bain have recently committed their futures to the club, demonstrating Falkirk's efforts to build a stable team.
